ABSTRACT: Intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) is the persistent increase of intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) that could be caused by several pathologies. It capable promoting organ dysfunction, thereby increasing mortality rate human patients. As for cats and dogs, there are still few reports on how this can monitored treated as a routine admitted hospitalized animals its relationship with Therefore, objective paper was to report case IAH secondary chronic diaphragmatic rupture in dog, which temporary abdominal closure (TAC). A bitch veterinary hospital undergo an elective ovariohysterectomy when it diagnosed displacement liver intestinal loops chest. After repositioning these structures cavity, tension observed abdomen. then performed Bogota bag. Immediately after surgery, IAP measured, presenting value 15 mmHg, indicating pressure. The animal hospitalized, monitored. 24 hours, 5.8 mmHg bag removed, definitive celiorraphy performed. patient showed satisfactory clinical progress discharged 72 hours surgical procedure. treatment used proved effective contributed quick recovery patient.
